This will be my last Ultra-related post, I promise. I just couldn’t resist sharing Chase & Status’ final song “Let You Go”. Their whole set was amazing. The first video is them at Ultra and the second is the “official” video so you can hear a better quality version.
Part of my absence on here was due to a long weekend in Miami attending Ultra. We saw a ton of great shows. My favorites were Chase & Status, Richie Hawtin and Busy P.
It was one of the best festival experiences I’ve ever had (tied with Coachella 2010) — and I’ve been going to multiple festivals each year since 2003. It definitely had the best sound system of any festival I’ve been to. And the organizers were really smart about the layout — instead of a few big food & drink tents, they had many smaller ones spread throughout the entire festival which made for always short lines. They also had real bathrooms and more than enough porta potties. I literally NEVER waited in line to use the restroom. No joke. (If you’ve ever been to a festival, you’ll understand how amazing this is.) We also saw Keith Richards (awesome) and Madonna (majorly disappointing) there. Here are some of the pictures I took…

I apologize for being so MIA lately! I’ve been crazy busy the past week and a half — between interviewing for jobs, wedding planning, a few social events and going to Miami for a long weekend for Ultra Music Festival I had no time to post. (Although, I tried to in Miami but our internet connection was crap.) Anyway, I’m back and will have a lot of new posts this week, one of them being a run down of Ultra. And in other good news, I got the job I really, really wanted and I start tomorrow! I’m super excited about it and I’ll fill you in on it soon…
Tonight B and I are going to see Madeon at Bottom Lounge. He’s an electropop producer from France and he’s only 17 years old! He’s playing both Ultra and Coachella this year, but there are always so many conflicts at festivals that we figured we’d take the chance to see him beforehand, just to rule out a potential conflict later on.
I wish I could say I made this Blueberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake but, alas, I did no such thing. I just found the recipe on Pinterest and it’s making my fried egg breakfast pale in comparison.

I love the idea behind the brand new, Belgium-based clothing company, honest by. They’re building their entire business on the idea of total honesty. According to them, they are the “first company in the world to share the full cost breakdown of its products”. And they’re only willing to work with designers who are 100% open about where their materials and labor come from. They also encourage all their suppliers to work with organic materials and to avoid animal products. Sounds like a company I could get behind!
You can check out their full line here. Unfortunately, “check out” is all I plan to do as the clothes are extremely expensive.

One week from today Ultra Music Festival kicks off in Miami. It’s our first year going and I couldn’t be more excited! It takes place over three days in Bayfront Park and is the premier electronic music festival in the United States. This years line-up is especially great. I’m most looking forward to seeing Kraftwerk, Camo & Krooked, Laidback Luke, 2 Many DJs, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Skream! + Benga, madeon, Digitalism, Chase and Status, Knife Party and High Contrast + Netsky. But that doesn’t even begin to skim the surface of the full line-up, which you can check out here.
Here’s a little taste of High Contrast for you.
