Green Monster Spinach Smoothie

I’ve got a busy day ahead of me – especially for a Saturday – so I’m starting it off the right way with a healthy breakfast.  I just made this Green Monster Spinach Smoothie from Iowa Girl Eats.  It tastes great and is an easy way to get a lot of greens. I used gigantic spinach leaves I got from Green City Market.

  1. Every time I make a green smoothie it comes out too chunky. How do you keep it smooth?

  2. Sometimes mine come out a little stringy if I don’t de-stem the spinach (or other greens) but as long as I de-stem well and cut up the apples and celery very fine then they’re usually quite smooth. Or, if you have some money to spare, you could invest in a very high quality blender, such as a Vitamix. Let me know how it goes!
